OnePlus Nord Buds 4 Review

OnePlus Nord Buds 4 review: The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 enter India’s highly competitive budget TWS market with an aggressive price tag of ₹3,299. On paper, they promise flagship-inspired features like 52dB Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), 54 hours of battery life, Bluetooth 6.1, fast charging, and dual-device connectivity.

While they miss out on premium features like LHDC codec support and advanced sound tuning found on the pricier Nord Buds 4 Pro, OnePlus has focused on the features that matter most to everyday users.

After using the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 as my primary earbuds for over a week—for music, Netflix, YouTube, calls, gaming, commuting, and workouts—here’s my detailed review.

📦 What’s Inside the Box?

Inside the retail package, you’ll find:

  • 🎧 OnePlus Nord Buds 4
  • 🔋 Charging Case
  • 👂 Extra Ear Tips
  • 📖 User Guide
  • 📄 Safety Information

Unlike the Nord Buds 4 Pro, OnePlus does not include a USB Type-C cable, which is understandable considering the affordable pricing.

🎨 Design & Build Quality

OnePlus has retained the familiar pebble-shaped charging case seen on its premium earbuds.

The matte finish feels premium, resists fingerprints well, and provides a comfortable grip. The Astral Teal review unit looks particularly eye-catching without being flashy.

Highlights

✅ Compact pocket-friendly design

✅ Premium matte texture

✅ Strong hinge mechanism

✅ USB Type-C charging

✅ Physical pairing button

The charging case weighs only 42.5 grams, making it lighter than the previous Nord Buds 3. It easily fits into the small coin pocket of a pair of jeans.

The earbuds themselves feature long stems with responsive touch controls for:

  • ▶️ Play/Pause
  • ⏭ Skip Track
  • 🔇 ANC Toggle
  • 📞 Call Controls

The IP55 rating also means they’re sweat and splash resistant, making them suitable for workouts.

One drawback

The earbuds have a slippery finish, making them slightly difficult to remove from the charging case.

👌 Comfort & Fit

Comfort is one of the Nord Buds 4’s biggest strengths.

Even after wearing them continuously for several hours, I experienced no discomfort or ear fatigue.

The default ear tips created an excellent seal, and throughout walking, jogging, and gym sessions, the earbuds stayed securely in place.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Comfort Rating: 9.5/10

📱 HeyMelody App Experience

The HeyMelody app remains one of the easiest companion apps available.

Unlike several competitors, there is no mandatory account login, allowing users to immediately access all features.

Features include

🎵 Sound Master EQ

🎮 Gaming Mode

🔍 Find My Earbuds

🔄 Dual Device Connection

👂 Ear Fit Test

▶️ Auto Play/Pause

🔊 Alert Volume Adjustment

🌍 AI Translate (OnePlus phones only)

🧘 Sound Space

The interface is clean, fast, and beginner-friendly.

🎵 Sound Quality Review

The Nord Buds 4 use 12mm titanium-coated dynamic drivers.

Their default tuning is unmistakably bass-focused.

If you enjoy EDM, hip-hop, Bollywood, or bass-heavy playlists, you’ll probably love them.

Songs like Starboy by The Weeknd sound energetic with punchy bass that adds excitement.

Vocals remain clean and reasonably detailed, although audiophiles may notice that finer details and instrument separation aren’t as refined as premium earbuds like the OPPO Enco Air3 Pro.

Sound Modes

Balanced

Offers the best overall listening experience.

Serenade

Reduces bass and pushes vocals forward.

Ideal for podcasts and acoustic tracks.

Bass

Adds even more low-end punch.

For my taste, it becomes excessive.

BassWave

Bass lovers will appreciate this feature.

At maximum level, however, it can overpower vocals.

Custom EQ

Tweaking the upper frequencies through the 10-band equalizer noticeably improves clarity and instrument separation.

⭐ Sound Rating: 8.5/10

🔇 ANC Performance

OnePlus advertises 52dB Hybrid ANC, and surprisingly, it delivers.

During testing, the earbuds effectively reduced:

🚆 Metro noise

🚗 Traffic sounds

❄️ Air conditioner hum

🌀 Ceiling fan noise

☕ Café chatter

Although they don’t create complete silence like flagship earbuds, they’re among the strongest ANC performers in the ₹3,500 price segment.

Transparency Mode also performs naturally without making voices sound robotic.

⭐ ANC Rating: 9/10

📞 Call Quality

Thanks to the six microphones, voice calls remain clear indoors.

Outdoor performance is respectable, although strong winds occasionally affect voice clarity.

For regular phone calls and video meetings, the Nord Buds 4 perform reliably.

🔋 Battery Life

Battery life is easily one of the Nord Buds 4’s biggest highlights.

OnePlus claims:

  • 🔋 Up to 54 hours total battery
  • ⚡ Fast charging support

In real-world usage, the earbuds comfortably lasted an entire week before I needed to recharge the case.

That included:

  • Spotify
  • YouTube
  • Amazon Prime Video
  • Voice calls
  • ANC usage

This is among the best battery performances in the budget TWS segment.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Battery Rating: 9.5/10

⚡ Charging Speed

Charging is impressively quick.

Using a 100W OnePlus charger, the charging case reached:

✅ 1% → 100%

in approximately 45 minutes.

Considering the outstanding battery endurance, charging becomes an infrequent task.

👍 Pros

✅ Excellent ANC for the price

✅ Outstanding battery life

✅ Comfortable lightweight fit

✅ Responsive touch controls

✅ Fast charging

✅ Easy-to-use HeyMelody app

✅ Good bass performance

👎 Cons

❌ Earbuds can feel slippery

❌ Bass may be excessive for some listeners

❌ No LHDC codec support

❌ Instrument separation could be better

⭐ Final Verdict

The OnePlus Nord Buds 4 prove that budget earbuds don’t have to compromise on the features that matter most.

For just ₹3,299, they deliver excellent active noise cancellation, exceptional battery life, a comfortable fit, reliable connectivity, and enjoyable sound quality. While the bass-heavy tuning and lack of LHDC support may not satisfy every audiophile, these compromises are easy to overlook considering the overall value.

If your priorities are ANC, battery life, comfort, and everyday reliability, the OnePlus Nord Buds 4 are among the best TWS earbuds under ₹3,500 currently available in India.
